(3). Prerequisite for Undergraduate: HY 102 or permission of instructor. Prerequisite for Graduate: None. An examination of major Asian civilizations from the sixteenth century to the present, including those in China, India, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Special focus on religion, culture, economics, political structures, and international relations, both within Asia and with the West.
